"I am excited and privileged to share my experience of working with Suzy. I am a nurse, a wife and a mother. Last year, I was intentionally run over outside a shopping mall and left with many injuries, including a Traumatic Brain Injury. My road to recovery has been long and changed my life.
Suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, I knew I needed more help to work through my fears and anxiety. I was scared of leaving the house, was having horrific panic attacks and saw only bad things in a world that to me used to be so positive.

How Does Hypnotherapy Work And Other Questions You Might Have
How does Hypnotherapy work?A Clinical Hypnotherapist works to put you into a deep state of relaxation that allows you to align the conscious and subconscious mind. When you’re feeling stuck and can’t move forward or make changes, aligning your conscious and subconscious mind can help you resolve these issues. When you’re in this deep state of relaxation, it becomes easier to access thoughts or beliefs that have turned into challenging behaviours, thoughts or symptoms. While you’re in hypnosis, I give you suggestions designed to help you become more open to change or therapeutic improvement (Hypnotherapy) that help you to change your thoughts and beliefs. Changing your mind and taking back control of your thought processes allows you to transform your life.
What does Hypnotherapy feel like?The experience feels different for different people. Some people feel a floating sensation. Others may feel sleepy. Most people feel relaxed and at ease. You’ll probably be aware of my voice and your own thoughts. What’s most important is to know that how you feel isn’t an indicator of how effective it is.
How does online Hypnosis work?All I do is send you an email link. You open the link, and away we go. Hypnosis online is also very effective. As you’re in your own environment, you are able to become more relaxed - you don't have to worry about traffic, or even being in the same city as me! You do need a quiet, private place where you won't be interrupted. A place you feel safe and at ease.
What happens during a clinical hypnotherapy and coaching session?At our first session, we’ll talk about what hypnosis is and how it works, and I’ll explain the whole process. We’ll go into depth about what you want to focus on, and how to prioritise the sessions. If you’re happy with what we’ve talked about, I’ll put you into hypnosis. Afterwards, I’ll give you exercises to use at home between our sessions that will make the most of your sessions. You’ll notice some benefits immediately after our first session and using the home-based tools. Between sessions, you’ll see ongoing improvements. As we work together, resolving one challenge may reveal others that we can go on and address in future sessions.
What if I don’t “go deep” enough?Don’t worry about how deep into relaxation you go. It's really not important. The depth of trance is not linked to results at all. So don’t get stuck on “Am I deep enough?” Just tell yourself the truth - “This is working”, and it will absolutely work. Just know that it is effective.
What if I think I already know the reasons behind my issue?What makes this amazing is that even if you think you know the reason, you see it in a completely new way. That’s what allows you to change the meaning and, ultimately, change your beliefs. Many clients go back to scenes that are totally different from what they expected. Just relax and trust that your subconscious mind will show you exactly what you need to see.
What if I go back to scenes that are painful or scary?If you go back to scenes from your life that are related to things like sexual or physical abuse, or other trauma, it’s important to remember that you are not reliving that scene. You are simply reviewing it, and you are safe. I will support you and create a safe space for you to express your emotions and heal - you’ll be okay.
When will I start to see changes?There are 3 types of change from Hypnotherapy - every person is different: Immediate: You feel a massive shift right away - immediate changes in your physiology, thoughts and behaviours right in the session. Incremental: You see consistent shifts every day or over time. Retroactive: You don’t notice the shifts right away, and then one day, someone comments on how different things are, and you suddenly look back and see all of the things that have changed in your life.
How many Clinical Hypnotherapy sessions will I need?The duration of therapy will really be dependent on your circumstances and the reason for which you are seeking hypnosis. Typically, if you're dealing with issues like a lack of motivation or seeking clarity on a major decision (like changing careers), you'll need 1-2 sessions. Phobias, like a fear of flying or Public Speaking, usually require 1-3 sessions. If you are looking to work on anxiety, relationships, money blocks, or changing lifestyle habits (like emotional eating), this will often require a minimum of 4-6 sessions. Those wanting a complete life transformation (skill building, self-esteem, values and goal setting, etc.), would benefit from 6-12 sessions. Many of my clients see me on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis, even after we've done extensive work because they simply like having someone to support them through life's transitions or major projects that they are working on.
